CrossRoads’ Hardship Relief Program

Thanks to the generosity of community partners, the CrossRoads Corporation is offering assistance to Grier Heights community residents experiencing financial hardship due to unexpected and unavoidable emergencies.

Applicants must be a resident of the Grier Heights community to be eligible to apply. Eligible applicants may receive a maximum of one grant during the calendar year for which CrossRoads has funding.

CrossRoads Corporation is offering support for individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship. Financial assistance is available for help with rental assistance, childcare, transportation, food/household expenses and utilities. Income eligible households, with a verifiable loss of income—related to the COVID-19 pandemic—and a demonstrated need, may be eligible to receive financial assistance up to $750. Higher amounts will be considered on a case-by-case basis. CrossRoads will pay vendors, landlords, mortgage, or utility companies, etc. directly. CrossRoads will distribute funds on a first-come, first-served basis until available funding is expended. CrossRoads may inquire if applicants have sought assistance from other programs when considering a request for assistance.

To comply with IRS guidelines, program guidelines restrict assistance to individuals experiencing severe financial need due to specific unexpected, unavoidable emergencies or hardships which can be documented. While all emergencies and financial hardships are unfortunate, incidents outside of program guidelines cannot be approved.

Beginning in January 2021, if funds are available, CrossRoads will consider requests from Grier Heights residents for assistance that are not specifically related to or the result of COVID-19. In the instance of a hardship due to a natural disaster, CrossRoads will consider an application for assistance prior to January 2021.
